The Euro-Med2k Working Group is the successor of the paleo-component of the former MedCLIVAR project, which had been endorsed by PAGES.
Key objectives
- Compilation of annual- and lower resolution proxy records covering the past 2k (Europe and Mediterranean)
- Efforts towards mean and spatial reconstructions and associated uncertainty using sophisticated methods (e.g. Bayesian statistics)
- Dynamical understanding of past and present European/Mediterranean climate variations
- Data-model comparison
- Data assimilation exercises
- Connection to other areas
- Combined emphasis to reconstruct Northern Hemisphere to global climate back to AD 0
