support of workshops and educational meetings
General information
To obtain support, organizers must be able to demonstrate that the themes and objectives of their workshop or eduational meeting (e.g., summer school) relate to PAGES Science Plan. In addition, PAGES requires a workshop report for the PAGES newsletter.
The next deadline for proposals is Saturday, 15 May 2010. Proposals will be evaluated at the June 2010 EXCOM meeting. The deadline after that is planned for Monday, 22 November 2010.
It can be advantageous to contact the IPO in advance of submitting a proposal and coordinate the planning with us. This can help ensure that the meeting matches PAGES goals and principles.
PAGES does not support applications by individuals for travel and meeting attendance. Additionally, PAGES tends not to support sessions at large conferences unless the session is used to initiate or aid in the development of a PAGES product, such as a special journal issue.
Please note: It is the responsibility of organizers to generate most of the funding necessary for the meeting.
Funds transfer
There are two possibilities for transfer of the allocated funds:
1. Funds are sent to the workshop organizer before the event, for distribution to the chosen participants (PAGES preferred).
2. PAGES pays the chosen participants directly, usually after the event.
Proposal
There are 3 types of workshop proposal forms. Please read the text below and fill out the form that best fits your type of workshop.
To submit a proposal for a workshop being organized by an official PAGES Working Group, fill out and submit the PAGES Working Group form.
To submit a proposal for an Educational meeting, fill out and submit the PAGES educational meeting form.
Otherwise, please fill out and submit the Open Call form.
