Hemispheric differences revealed

inter-hem-temp-var-img2A new international study published in Nature Climate Change (Neukom et al. 2014 online) shows that temperature differences between the Northern and Southern Hemispheres in the last millenium were larger than previously thought. Using data derived by the Southern Hemisphere based PAGES 2k Working Groups (Australasian, South American, African and Antarctic), researchers found that most climate models are unable to satisfactorily simulate the considerable differences between the hemispheres.
