Ocean2k Needs You!

Logo_Ocean2K_copy_copyThe recently-formed Ocean2k regional PAGES 2k synthesis project is looking for volunteers to assist in assembling a metadatabase of marine paleodata for the past 2000 years available from publicly archived databases.

The goal is to have this part of the project ready by January 2012, such that synthesis projects using it can be developed in time for use in the UNEP/Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC)'s AR5 Working Group I (Scientific basis) report.

What's in it for you (especially students): (1) Learn all about the various marine sources of paleoclimate information; (2) Work virtually with a highly collaborative, international team of paleoclimatologists; (3) Contribute to the IPCC's AR5 WGI assessment.
