IPICS Workshop on "Science and Technology for the Next Generation of International Ice Coring", Corvallis, USA, 6-7 July 2009

There will be an IPICS Workshop/Steering Committee Meeting on 6-7 July, alongside PAGES 1st Young Scientists Meeting (YSM) and immediately before PAGES 3rd Open Science Meeting (OSM). The meetings are being held on the campus of Oregon State University in Corvallis, Oregon. The IPICS meeting will be held in the Alumni Center, the same venue as the YSM. The International Partnerships in Ice Core Sciences II (IPICS II) Workshop "Roadmaps and Pathways to Implementation" was held in Brussels, Belgium on 9-12 October 2005. The main objective of IPICS II, "Roadmaps and Pathways to Implementation", was to discuss the feasibility of the four identified Ice Core Flagship Projects and develop a roadmap and matrix that can be presented to national funding agencies and polar operators for forward planning of potential deep ice and coastal array opportunities.
